Evenings at the Lightkeeper’s Inn Bed and Breakfast are mesmerizing. As the sun sets, you can watch the bayfront transform into a quiet harbor. The lights in the harbor gradually begin to light the walkways. The fishing vessels come in throughout the evening and light up the bridge as they come in.
On occasion, you may see our Coast Guard practicing maneuvers, and the Coast Guard’s helicopter can also be seen flying overhead. You can also watch the Oregon State University research vessel, TheOceanus and the research vessels fromNOAA come in.
Don’t forget the 4th of July at our Newport, Oregon Bed & Breakfast …….You can bundle up and go out onto the deck and watch the fireworks Or… watch from your Suite! The fireworks are displayed directly across from us…FABULOUS!
During the day, there is much to explore, all within walking distance. You can walk through the State Park, stroll on the beach, or visit The “Haunted Lighthouse”. Wander the historic bayfront and shop in some
of the beautiful galleries, visit our candy shops for a treat, go down to the docks and watch the seals, and see what the fisherman have brought in.
Bay Front activities include booking a deep sea fishing trip or a whale watching excursion. Bring your boat, and use the South Beach Marina to launch from to go crabbing or fishing.
As residents of The Lightkeeper's Inn, Bill & Cheryl offer their home for you to enjoy. Relax in the privacy of your suite, on one of our 4 decks, or come on up to the main living area, where you always have an opportunity to visit with us. Cheryl is a Newport native and is a wealth of information on where to go and what to do. She will also share stories of the area with you.
